claire + justin

There was so much goodness all wrapped up in Claire and Justin's wedding, it is hard to put into words! The couple met in high school, went their separate ways, and came back together in New York (Brooklyn) about fifteen years after graduation.  The couple wanted to marry in Washington , CT where they both grew up, and where they shared so much history together. Both are outdoorsy, and wanted to be married outside, near the trails they used to hike. The Mayflower Inn was the perfect setting on this outstanding warm autumn day! Scrabble is a big game in the brides family, and of course the Inn had awesome games to play on their porch (they spelled out their last names) !

this is what happiness looks like

Pure joy. Those two words perfectly describe yesterday's afternoon romp at my friends' organic farm in Washington, CT.  Picture the most bucolic movie setting of what a New England farm should look like, and then multiply it. I brought the dogs over for a nice little walk, over the hill, up the hill, and beyond the pond (where Ruby took a dip). I finally got to meet the newest member, Eliot, an adorable rescue terrier. Bode and Eliot took to one another immediately (both one) and ran like crazy through the fields. It was a nice break in the rain, and the clouds were just parting, as they gave way to the sunshine. I imagine this is what dog heaven looks like--lucky us, we found it right here on earth.

Waldningfield farm sells their produce at many of the local farmers markets. Check them out online, and find out more about ordering their goods as well as joining the CSA program. Local, organic, what could be better? Thanks again for letting us stop by Patrick & Q!

An Olympics themed Bat Mitvah

Southbury, & Washington, CT

So it has taken me just a wee longer then intended to get this blog posted. It seems that I had  thought I had.

I absolutely adore the entire Cooper family and was so honored to shoot Julia's  big day. She was so sure of herself, confident radiant and absolutely composed, I only wish at thirteen I was that pulled together! Here are some images from the party afterwards, which was held at  the Washington club. Totally rocking Olympics themed party.

coffee + instagram

Marty's

Washington Depot, CT.

My biggest morning inspiration? Well, that would be a double latte, and well, on those oh so special occasions a side of coffee crumb cake from Marty's cafe in Washington Depot..with well, a side of CT magazine for a little browsing drooling over all the gorgeous kitchens this month. And to top if off... my new iPhone with mega mega pixels, for those moments I don't want to lug around those ten pounds of equipment. The icing foam on top? Playing around with Instagram. Follow me if you would, I would love to see your pictures too!

David + Heather

I was so lucky to photograph Heather and David's wedding. I have known David for a while--since we both worked at the Litchfield County Times (a long time ago). When he asked me to be a part of their wedding, I was honored. Heather was so game for anything as far as pictures went. She happily tossed aside her shoes after the wedding and literally frolicked in the water. It was absolutely beautiful, metaphors and all. The reception at the Hopkins Vineyard was perfection; amazing BBQ (cooked by a friend of Heathers). For more on the two of them, you can check out their story in the NYT's wedding section. Special thanks to the Lloyds, who provided this exquisite backdrop for the ceremony . Congratulations you two!
