94 days of summer

I don't know about you guys, but I am so ready for summer.  Enough of the snow already! I am hoping this may warm you up on this February morning. I published a tiny little coffee table book titled 94 Days of Summer which you can now buy here!  I've included a few of my favorites in this post. Have a lovely week!

also, prints are available for sale, if you are interested send me a message at kate@kateuhryphoto.com

curious

One of my favorite things about a two (+ half) year old is there never-ending ability to ask questions. Always curious, always creative, and relentless on the "why?" and the "how"? I think we should all have more of that. This is from a photo session in August, which you can see more of here. He was making me key lime pie.

New England has a massive amount of fairs in the summertime (and early fall). This was a first for me-Norwalk, Oyster festival. I love the bright colors. We ate ourselves a bit silly this weekend. Happy Monday!

the easiest salsa ever

I have a load of heirloom tomatoes, so trying to come up with different ways to use them up,  has become a bit of a game. The simplest and best recipe (to me) is homemade salsa. Not many utensils  or ingredients needed, and I can whip it up instantly, and bottle it as a hostess gift.

The sweet taste of the Sungold is great mixed with some basic red plum, the riper, the better.

Ingredients One large tomato (or a cup of cherry size) Half a large onion 1/2 cup cilantro (or to taste) I love cilantro + add a lot!  1 tablespoon (approximately) Tabasco

Chop up tomatoes, cilantro, and onion and mash in large bowl till the consistency is what you like. Add a dash of Tabasco to taste. You can use a blender or food processor, but it really isn't needed, especially if you use ripe tomatoes. As I have mentioned in other posts, I am not a big measurer--I am somewhat haphazard, so all of this is sort of intuitive to me because I have made it so many times. It's one of those recipes that you can not screw up!

If you bottle it, as I did, it can only sit in the fridge for a few days, before it starts to go bad. I didn't have any ribbon so I used simple garden twine which I always have laying around.

a sweet sunday

I had a lovely Sunday morning shoot in Washington (CT) with the most adorable family. I had so much fun watching E play his guitar, cook me green eggs and ham, show me ladybugs, the pond with frogs, and their super cute pug, Hudson! E's laughter and smile is contagious!

calm waters

Have you ever tried paddle boarding? I want to try it as soon as I get some free time this summer. It is kind of on my bucket list. I am not sure either of my golden retrievers could get up on the board with me though.

Guilford yacht Club

Congratulations to the bride and Groom! What a gorgeous couple (inside and out) . Cheers to them both, to Jen who just graduated from business school in MI,  moved across the country (back to the east coast), and finally planned a wedding, and pulled it all off with out a hitch. Even the sun shined on them.  What a loving tribute from both the matron of honor, and best man for the two of them, it was a true testament to what wonderful family and friends they have! Many blessings to you both. Rock it out on your honeymoon! You deserve some serious beach and margarita time!
