The easiest cake ever.

I am so excited to share this really simple cake recipe with you-almost too good to be true. I found it on Pinterest a few months ago and have been just waiting to make it again so I can share some pictures too! This recipe is so easy and only takes a few ingredients that you probably have in your pantry. It is really light, similar to a sponge cake, and is best served with fresh fruit. The cake is a german recipe, but I made all the conversions for you to make it easy to follow!  I've made it twice now, and everyone commented on how delicious and light it was! The cake is basically called "sweetened condensed milk cake" but the proper German name is Kondensmilch Kuchen!

Kondensmilch Kuchen

Preheat oven to 350

Ingredients: (yields 8 pieces)

1 can sweetened condensed milk
4 Eggs
1 cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking powder
3.5 tablespoons of butter, melted + 1 Tablespoon for brushing the Cake form.

Prepare your cake in a  9” round,  (the original recipe suggests a ring pan). I don't have a ring, so I used this size. Brush it with 1 tablespoon butter & spread flour (so it won't stick). With an electric mixer, mix all ingredients (milk, eggs, flour, baking powder & melted Butter) till smooth then add them to the cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes (or less according to the Cake thickness). Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top & serve with fruit sauce or fresh fruits, add edible flowers if you like! You can check the original recipe post here. I love the idea for a wedding to have lots of different homemade desserts and cakes! Would be so sweet to have a bunch of different cake stands (you can find on Etsy or Ebay) and display the different cakes, rather than having one big bakery cake! A simple old farm table with a sweet vintage tablecloth would set the mood!

  2. I love this cake! It is sooo easy, and being a terrible baker, I think I can do it! At our wedding we did that, we had pie, and cakes, and it was so lovely!
