october (think pink)

October is here already! As many of you know Oct. is breast cancer awareness month.  I am taking a bit of a diversion in my regular professional postings on the blog today to let you know about a great  project I was asked to participate in.
This year I am doing something new. I have joined in with the Shoot in Pink extravaganza. I am donating  my time to take portraits of survivors of breast cancer. If you, or someone you know,  lives in the Litchfield County area  + would like a free portrait session, please contact me kate@kateuhryphoto.com to set up a shoot this month.

When Chinelle of Amazing Grace  asked me to participate, in this nationwide project my anserw was an immediate  "YES"!   This is close to my heart--in the last several years three of my closest friends have been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as my my Aunt.  If you would like to participate too and are not sure how, there are so many great ways you can help. Go to the American Cancer Society to donate, and learn more. You can also volunteer your time; find out through your local hospital, or church/synagogue, how you can help, even if it is just one meal, one car trip to chemo.....
